The surroundings of Torrevieja

Torrevieja is a popular seaside resort on the Mediterranean Sea in the province of Alicante in Spain. The city is known for its fishing, salt lakes, beautiful beaches and lively atmosphere. It has a Mediterranean (micro) climate with warm summers and mild winters.
The microclimate of Torrevieja is often considered very beneficial for health and this has led to the World Health Organization (WHO) officially recognizing the area as one of the healthiest places in the world.

The salt lakes called Salinas de Torrevieja are unique and have a beautiful pink color and a
high salt concentration. These lakes are not only beautiful to look at, they are also frequent
used for mud and salt treatments. In addition, you will find many beautiful and elegant ones here
flamingos that live here all year round.

There are several beaches in Torrevieja, including Playa del Cura, Los Locos and La Mata beach
the latter beach is an 850 meter walking distance from Casa Kolibri. These beaches have white sand and
clear sea water. The ideal places to relax, walk along the beaches and dunes, too
enjoy the sun, swim and cool off in the wonderfully clean sea water.
In addition to beach activities, Torrevieja offers opportunities for water sports, such as sailing and diving.

There are also several golf courses in the area. There are two for the children
water parks namely Aquopolis Torrevella and Aquapark Flamingo, both of which are close to the city.
The city also has a lively boulevard. The boulevard is not a standard boulevard, this is what happens
because most of the boulevard is located directly on the sea, without having to build one first
wide beach in between. Here you can enjoy walks, enjoy the restaurants, cafes and shops
and the beautiful sea view. In the evening there are regular street performers and entertainment.

The area surrounding Torrevieja also has beautiful natural parks. The Natural Park of La Mata and Torrevieja has a protected area with lagoons, dunes and the famous salt lakes, which are important for the many birds and other animals in this area.

Torrevieja has a vibrant cultural life and festivals, concerts and events take place all year round
events organized. The International Habaneras and Polyphony Competition is a well-known one
singing festival that the city organizes annually in May and July.
